1. Easy Communication

Over 20% of the population speaks English as a primarily or secondary language. That's 1 in 5 humans that speaks English. This means that learning English is quite important, but if you want to really enhance your speeches, you should take Literature!

Not only does literature boost your vocabulary choices, it also makes people sound more convincing and knowing what they are doing. Knowing what you are saying also comes in handy when you are traveling. For example, literature can teach multiple different ways of saying the same thing.

Although this might seem useless, many countries actually use different ways of speaking, although it usually means the same thing. This is often affected because of differences in cultures.

2. Jobs

Literature can be a key point of your career, sometimes being a “make or break” of being hired or not. As said before, literature makes people sound more confident, leading to people feeling more convinced. This can be applied to interviews, when a student who took literature would be in an interview with interviewer(s).

 

There are also numerous jobs in the Literacy section! Students can be teachers, work in the government, become writers and much more! The highest paying jobs include becoming a technical writer ($80-120 thousand per year), a university professor specializing in Literature ($85-140 thousand per year), as well as becoming a lawyer ($100-250 thousand per year)! Overall, literature doesn’t just affect in one way, as explained in this short paragraph!

3. Common Skills

If students are stuck on why they should choose to take Literature over Composition English, look no further! This short paragraph will outline key areas this advanced English course will improve on for a student, bringing the course’s learning throughout a student's life and future career. Literature Studies 11 can train a reader’s Critical Thinking, Communication Skills, as well as Encouraging Creativity.

This course builds Critical Thinking skills by giving students chances to improve writing and setting themes/goals for the students to aim for. Literacy can also make students view from several different perspectives of a single story.

Literature also practices your Communication Skills! On top of expanding vocabulary, it also can help students write clearer and more concisely, and express different emotions within the text.

Finally, this course improves on a student’s creativity. This course requires writing paragraphs and essays, but also gives students room to improvise and think of their own ways they want to write about their topic! This opportunity grows the imagination section of the brain, which includes storytelling and creating ideas.

Conclusion:

This article is meant to bring awareness to students that think Literacy is all “old-fashioned language” or “out-dated” to show that this course is, in fact, not an outdated course and people can actually gain many different types of achievements from Literature Studies 11. This course brings together a mix of fun, poetic paragraphs and much needed creativity to maximize a student’s learning opportunities and knowledge.
