Robert Cecil Palmer Secondary School was founded in 1959. R.C. Palmer is named after its founder, Robert Cecil Palmer, a well-known provincial court magistrate. In 1979, a large fire devastated parts of Palmer Secondary, which led to a renovation to a full-grade school. In 1997, R.C. Palmer had its first graduates from the school. Palmer Secondary is now known for its advance programs and learning opportunities, as well as its strong athletic teams.
