Life Sciences 11
-
Students will learn the ideas and primary concepts of Biology and continue advancing their knowledge on Cells (structure, processes, etc.).
-
Students taking Life Sciences 11 (Or Biology 11) will also learn topics like Microbiology, which is the study of bacteria and viruses, as well as Botany, the study of plants.
-
In comparison to Science 8 - 10, Life Sciences 11 is a course primarily focused on the biology aspect of sciences, which provides better insight for students looking to work in this sector of the sciences.
-
In this course, students will gain the abilities to use more advanced laboratory equipment, evaluate more
complicated graphs and trends, and make scientific models. These are only some examples of the many skills one can acquire in this course!
Anatomy & Physiology 12
-
This course is mainly focused on Biology, but also includes information that requires a student to also have taken Chemistry 11.
-
This course is one of two options that come from taking Biology. Topics that will be taught in this course include Gene expressions and controls, enzyme reactions, and also information about the human body.
-
This course also requires Chemistry 11 because within the course it needs students to know about what acids, bases, and more in order to properly teach new ideas in Biology.
-
This course is for students who have an interest in medicine or other parts of health science. Students who are just curious about human biology may also take this science course.
Conclusion:
Overall, Life Sciences 11 and Anatomy & Physiology 12 (Courses can also be referred as Biology 11/12) helps students learn in their respective courses and provides useful insight into what their jobs can be like in the future. This course is also friendly towards students who just are curious about the subject and want to explore their options.
