Science 8 Information
-
Science 8 introduces Chemistry by utilizing fun lab activities, projects, and informative classwork on topics like Atomic Theory, Earth Science, and Energy.
-
This course utilizes the Communication, Thinking and Personal Social Core Competencies to teach students information. The overall goal of Science 8, which also include's its Chemistry unit, is to assist students to understand the importance of Science.

Science 9 Information
-
In Science 9, you will review some previous topics learned in Grade 8, but you will also learn about atoms, and the periodic table elements. Science 9 also includes lab experiments and activities.
-
Science 9 emphasizes on how students should approach chemistry with topics like chemical processes and fun activities like laboratory demonstrations.
Science 10 Information
-
Science 10 expands on topics learned in Science 8 and Science 9 and tries to spread awareness to students of Earth’s health.
-
In the Science 10 Chemistry unit, students will learn about atoms, what different transformation atoms can undergo, chemistry within living things and introduction to how chemistry formed the universe.

Student Opinions:
Grade 10 Student: Frank Xu
Student Frank Xu find the Chemistry units particularly interesting among all of the subjects that he learned. While giving his opinions on the course, he mentioned one of his favourite experiments they did was exploring "How hydrochloric acid affects the metal zinc". Now, chemistry helps him understand what different materials and products are made of, and what some experiments can make.

Conclusion:
Science 8-10 is a great course for students who want to start a career into the Science sector or just want some basic knowledge for life. Although this is a mandatory course, many students interviewed like Frank and Brianna enjoyed the course.
Grade 9 Student: Brianna Zhang
Grade 9 Brianna Zhang was also one of the students that were interviewed. She finds that measurements and laboratory procedures to be tough and sometimes will need the teacher's help. Palmer's Chemistry unit has changed how she sees how materials react with each other and how products can develop. In the interview, we asked what advice you would give to students taking Chemistry. Her answer was to make sure you "read lab procedures more than once and if you still don’t get it, ask someone who understands before the experiment
